Long Way Down, Jason Reynolds

Ohhhhh. Emmmmm. Geeeeeee. I frigging LOVE this book. It is written in verse with unusual spaciality to each page. Jason Reynolds spins a remarkable tale of Will, a teenager who the day prior witnessed his brother killed in a gang-style shooting. In Will's world, there are three rules: 1. Don't cry. 2. Don't snitch. 3. Take revenge.

This book is a lightning-speed read with very few words. But the words that are written in their unique way with the unusual spacing combined with the perfectly placed commas and end punctuations are as deep and meaningful as any I have ever read in tomes with ten times the words.

I am totally blown away by the depth of this book. It is so incredibly well done I can't believe I have never heard of it before now.
