The Book of Lost and Found, Lucy Foley

Oh, this is a good book. In a nutshell, the book is about Kate Darling, who learns on her grandmother's deathbed about the woman who may well be her true grandmother. The story then takes us to Alice and Tom in the 1920-40s and jumps back to Kate learning her family history in the 1980s. It is well-written, well-thought-out, and worth the read.

But, here's the best part, for me at least, it's a story about love, about romance, but it doesn't end neatly tied in a bow at the end. Girl doesn't get boy forever, but the time is enough when she does. This, in my opinion, is the best kind of love story, the one that you can relate to, the one that is more life-like.

I believe this is Lucy Foley's debut (she has had several others since), but regardless, it is wonderful. I liked it better than The Guest List, which I very much enjoyed. Give it a read; you will be glad.
